More on Thursday quake

Jeff Bolton here in Tokyo...Blessed Lord was that scary. We were live on the air at 9:35am back to all of you at home when a 7.4 temblor hit 180 miles north of Tokyo in Sendai -- FROM WHERE WE RECENTLY RETURNED THIS WEEK FROM BROADCASTING! The Japanese authorities immediately issued a tsunami warning for the same places struck by the quake and tsunami on 3-11-11.

Earthquake live

We shook for more than a minute in random directions from the quake that was again...180 miles to the north...it was extremely spooky. I haven't heard the audio, but I'm sure I sounded like a twelve year old girl at the mall when I was live on air as it was happening. We're standing by for aftershocks and whatever is next.

Bolton Blog

Mon in Japan - I've seen more than my share of human suffering in my short 46 years, in war zones and natural disaster area, but as it was in Indonesia in 2004/2005 when the earthquake and tsunami struck that area, the ravaged wasteland in Japan is almost beyond comprehension, and doesn't resemble where humans once lived at all....

Tues in Japan - One foot in front of the other today, and the lone Japanese guy riding a sidewalk cleaner will stay with me a very long time. Back and forth like a metronome he cleans the sidewalk on the departure side of the sendai airport, waiting for the day when people will return here. If one man is that devoted to a single sidewalk, how much greater even are the Japanese people devoted to the recovery of their island nation. Enough, I think.
